Last year, we invited our team to take part in Changing Trees, our seasonal photo series celebrating the moment trees gain their leaves! Each person chose a tree or landscape and captured a photo of it every week, creating a beautiful documentation of leaves emerging and spring unfolding.
This year, we would love for you to get involved!
How to get involved
- Starting this week, choose a favourite tree near to you – it could be in your local park or even in your back garden
- Take a picture of your chosen tree each week for the next six weeks, from the same spot, with the same frame, ideally at the same time of day
- Save the image, with a date ref, your name and its number in the order e.g. Mark31March-1
- Depending on how far the trees have progressed, you may need to extend the number of weeks you document your tree for
- In final week (week 6), take a final picture of the tree.
How to share
During May, share your carousel of tree pictures on social media and tag us in your photos along with the hashtag #ChangingTrees.
Towards the end of May, we will pick our favourites to feature in a news story on our website.
If you don’t have social media, you can send in your pictures to comms@treecouncil.org.uk, making sure to put ‘Changing Trees’ in the subject line and attaching your images once they have all been documented.
