Fordingbridge Greener Living Falconwood Tree Planting Event
November 28, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Fordingbridge Greener Living’s Tree Planting Gorup plan to plant approximately 150 whips (small trees) donated by the Woodland Trust, to naturalise and fill gaps left after the removal of dead Ash trees within the wooded area along Falconwood. In addition, we shall also be creating a new wooded area, as circled on the map. This will help blend the tree line between the green space to the rear of Allen Water Drive and Falconwood. The trees being planted are the same native species used successfully at the tiny forest site at Parsonage Park in February/March this year.
Tree species are as follows: Wild Cherry, Rowan, Birch, Hawthorn, Dogwood, Hazel.
As shown on the image, we have approval for two planting sites. One is an NFDC managed wooded area running along the old railway track between the rear of Falconwood Close and Marl Lane. The second site, managed by Fordingbridge Town Council, is the banked grassy area, next to the old railway bridge between the rear of Allen Water Drive and Marl Lane. The two sites are connected by the footpath leading under the old railway bridge.
This event shall take place on Saturday 27th November 2021. More details will be shared on our Facebook page and website, but it is open for all residents to attend and get involved. https://fordingbridgegreenerliving.org/
We hope you can join us and help plant some trees. Luke & Jaime – Project Lead Volunteers
