Science Oxford National Tree Week Conservation Day

December 6, 2020

Free

Join us for a day of tree planting at Stansfeld Park! As part of National Tree Week (28 November – 6 December 2020) we are celebrating the great outdoors with the help of The Tree Council and Oxford Conservation Volunteers.

We are very excited to have been awarded a Branching Out grant from The Tree Council to fund the purchase of 25 established native trees to plant in our 15 acres of woodland. This planting project will provide much needed diversity for our wildlife and our visitors, but we cannot do it without help from you!

Join the socially-distanced working team between 09:45 and 16:00 on Sunday the 6th of December to help get the trees safely in the ground. The Oxford Conservation Volunteers will provide the tools and training for this, and a range of other conservation tasks, to keep you safe, busy and warm.
Bring suitable clothing, lunch and please register your interest by contacting the OCV’s Chris Skepper chair@ocv.org.uk in advance – we will be unable to accept walk ups on the day due to social distancing regulations.

Under 18’s must be supervised by an adult.

We will have sanitiser stations at the access gate, sinks will be available for hand washing and toilets will be accessible on the day. For more information, including details of our COVID-safe measures, contact Science Oxford’s Roger Baker roger.baker@scienceoxford.com or visit ocv.org.uk/faq.
