Gallery: West Horsley Place Trees Love Care volunteer day

The Tree Council

June 8, 2023

Summer appears to have arrived and what better way to herald it than by giving our recently planted trees and hedges some tender loving care? Newly planted trees and whips need simple care in their early years to give them the best chance to thrive in the years and decades to come. Luckily for those at West Horsley Place, Surrey, our tree-mendous team of partners were on hand this week to lend a hand.

Thirty volunteers from Network Rail, Blue Strawberry Group, CapitalRise, Eastdil Secured, Ground Control, Heylo Housing and Kind & Co got stuck in clearing the ground around a recently planted, and very overgrown, hedgerow, we well as laying down mulch and removing plastic tree guards. In all, 300 metres, or around 1500 hedgerow whips, were tended to and given a new lease of life.

Very big thanks to all of our volunteers on the day, who braved one of the hottest days of the year so far in the name of tree-l-c!
