Branching Out supports applications ranging in value from £250 up to £2,500, with specific criteria for those under £500, and those above £500. Before you start applying, read our Application Guidance. You will find everything here that you need to know, from the types of trees that qualify, to recommendations around protection.

Then, when you are ready, hit APPLY NOW button (you are encouraged to read through the application before you are ready to apply), download the Budget Sheet and Claim Form and start the process of transforming your project dream into a reality.  All projects must have planted and claimed their grant before the end of March 2024.

Making an application

Successful applicants are notified within 5-6 weeks of a completed submission. Applications for grants under £500 are likely to be processed more quickly.

Grants will be paid after planting has taken place, upon submission of a claim form, receipts and evidence of planting (photos).

Thanks to Branching Out, pupils and families from the local primary school in Great Bowden, Leicestershire planted an amazing 59 native trees including oak, lime, birch, rowan, maple, sweet chestnut, walnut and plum.

Branching Out Case Study: Hands of Hope, Kent

Hands of Hope, Kent

Branching Out supported the Kent-based Hands of Hope planting project, which aims to address food poverty, rural isolation and loneliness, and improve the overall mental, physical and environmental health of the local community.
