DESCRIPTION:Join us at the HUT on try Green for a lino printing workshop focusing on and celebrating trees for National Tree Week — the UK’s biggest celebration of trees. \nLed by local artist Clare Bowes\, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the process of lino printing using trees as our inspiration. We will go from sketching ideas to carving and printing your own designs. You’ll create a series of beautiful hand-printed artworks to take home. \nThis class is perfect for beginners as well as those who’ve tried lino printing before. All materials are provided\, and you’ll take home a collection of your own prints at the end of the session. \nTea\, coffee and biscuits included.

DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday 22nd November\nTime : 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM \nThis art class invites you to step outside\, look closely\, and discover the beauty and variety of trees through drawing. Working outdoors in Gosforth Central Park\, you’ll sketch directly from life — observing shapes\, textures\, and differences — before returning to the HUT to develop your studies further. \nLed by artist and tutor Charlotte Johnston\, who has taught at the National Gallery\, Tate Galleries\, the British Museum and the V&A\, this class is a wonderful opportunity to learn from an experienced teacher with a passion for observational drawing and expressive mark making. \nWHAT YOU’LL LEARN:\nObservational Drawing – Take time to look carefully and draw from life\, exploring form\, texture and shape. Build confidence\, patience\, and curiosity through the challenge of drawing outdoors. \nExploring Materials – Experiment with ink\, coloured pencils\, pastels\, charcoal\, and collaged paper to bring energy and expression to your work. You’ll discover which materials best suit your style and help you capture the spirit of what you see. \nComposition & Perspective – Trees make perfect subjects for exploring scale\, texture\, and perspective. You’ll create a series of lively sketches before developing a final drawing inspired by your observations. \nA perfect afternoon for anyone who loves drawing\, nature\, or simply spending time outdoors with a sketchbook in hand.
