We are THE membership organisation for the tree sector.

Our membership is broad and reaches all areas of the sector…and often beyond. Members range from voluntary and community groups to local authorities and government. All our Members are united by a desire to make a positive difference and work together for the love of trees. We facilitate dialogue and action between our Members to influence policy, drive science and research and increase the impact of our collective tree work. As an independent charity and membership body, we advocate for trees with government and in public life.

Working with others is key to everything The Tree Council does. From cross-sector forums to supporting our amazing Tree Warden volunteers, contributing to sector initiatives to partnering with businesses and corporations, we know that together we can do more to plant, protect and care for our trees and hedgerows.

Our Members encompass charities, community groups, local authorities and others, and the involvement of our Members in our work is just as varied. We partner with local authorities to deliver the Tree Warden scheme in their area, with local and national charities to influence tree science and practice, and much more. Find out more about joining Team Tree Council below.

We have two types of Member: Tree Warden Networks and our Charity Partner Members.

Tree Warden Network Members

Our Tree Warden Network Members co-ordinate their local Tree Wardens, local tree champions who plant, look after and stand up for the trees in their patch. We provide a range of benefits to our Tree Warden Network Members, including a Tree Warden Training Package, a bespoke Tree Warden Network logo for each network, opportunity to attend the annual Tree Warden Coordinators Conference and Regional Tree Warden Forums and ongoing support and guidance from our dedicated National Tree Warden Scheme Co-ordinator, Sam Village.

If you’d like to find out more about becoming a Tree Warden Network Member please get in touch with Sam at sam.village@treecouncil.org.uk

Charity Partner Members

Our strapline is ‘Working together for the Love of Trees’ and our Charity Partner membership embodies this, initiating discussion and action to influence policy, drive research and increase the impact of our collective work. Our Charity Partner Members enjoy a range of benefits including access to our Charity Coalition Group forums, opportunities to work together on policy statements and advocacy activities and make new connections across the sector, as well as the use of our ‘Member of the Tree Council’ logo.
