We’re always thrilled to hear about the innovative ways our partners embed their support for The Tree Council in their work. The recently opened 1 Hotel Mayfair, which has sustainable tourism at its heart, has developed a number of exciting initiatives that puts our partnership front and centre.
1 Hotel Mayfair is one of The Tree Council’s Jubilee Partners, supporting community tree and hedgerow planting across the UK. Endeavouring to set a new benchmark for sustainable luxury in London, it describes itself as the first mission-driven hotel in the UK. The hotel sought to integrate nature into the core of its design, with over 500 square metres of living green-trellised exterior walls and a moss wall in every guest room, amounting to over 200 plant species and 1,300 individual plants across the property. A Japanese maple was planted in the courtyard of the hotel to celebrate our tree-loving partnership.
1 Hotel Mayfair came up with some original ways to support The Tree Council, including the ‘Give Green Get Green Initiative’, where unused hotel credit will be donated to The Tree Council. We were also pleased to develop a self-guided Tree Walk for the hotel’s guests, inspiring them to engage with hidden trees in and around the streets of Mayfair during their stay. And finally, other 1 Hotels around the world are celebrating the opening of 1 Hotel Mayfair, and our new partnership, by donating 20% of sales from a limited-edition Bramble cocktail. Cheers to that!
We’re hugely grateful to 1 Hotel Mayfair for their brilliant support and look forward to working together for the love of trees.
