1,000 orchards will be planted in 1,000 schools through the fund
Restaurateur and philanthropist Richard Caring has donated £100,000 to the Daily Mail Tree Angel campaign, to create a special fund which will create 1,000 orchards in 1,000 schools. The orchards will provide free fruit for students and wildlife!

More about the Be a Tree Angel Campaign
We’re partnering with the Daily Mail to help plant as many as a million new trees across the UK this National Tree Week and over Christmas.
The campaign will give readers the opportunity to claim a free tree to plant in their garden, or to donate to support local tree planting projects around the country, particularly in our towns and cities where they are needed most. This includes establishing 1,000 new orchards in 1,000 schools and support local tree planting projects, particularly in our towns and cities where they are needed most. The Tree Council is proud to be bringing together organisations in this campaign to get more people than ever planting and caring for trees during National Tree Week and beyond.
