Community Tree Nurseries (CTNs) can supply high quality, locally grown, diverse, biosecure planting stock of local provenance for planting. As part of this pilot, a social science report by Forest Research will assess the barriers faced to CTN establishment, development and long-term viability, and seek solutions.
The aim is to produce a knowledge sharing toolkit to facilitate new CTN establishment, and a demonstration hub to provide training and act as a focal point for CTNs old and new. A pilot group will also trial the introduction of a CTN Plant Healthy group accreditation scheme.
