21 September – 21 October
Grow the trees of the future
As the nights draw in it’s tempting to hunker inside – but this is the best time of year to explore your local woods or nearest park, and gather the seeds, nuts and fruits that will grow to become the next generation of life-giving trees, shrubs and hedgerows.
“Seed Gathering Season is a wonderful opportunity for us all to come together and gather seed from local trees and nurture them to become young saplings, which can be planted locally to benefit future generations.”
– Sara Lom, The Tree Council CEO
Tree Growers Guide
Growing a tree from a seed is an easy, simple act and can help reconnect us to our shared natural world. We have created two guides, The Tree Growers Guide and The Young Tree Growers Guide which have been produced by a team of experienced tree growers who want to share their love of trees and how to grow them.

Growing Together
Growing Together, a new programme from The Tree Council supported by M&G plc, is transforming communities and nature through locally grown trees. The programme sets out to double the number of tree nurseries in communities and schools across the UK over the next three years to help shape a greener, more connected and resilient future.
