Syston Trees 2

Recommended walk

A beautiful walk when not near the roads! Expect to see giant willows, Beech, Birch, Sycamore, Heritage trees (apples, Plums, Pears, Damsons, Mulberries), Syston White Plums and a terrific amount of wildlife near ponds including Heron and Egret. Unfortunately, this route is not at all accessible and should only be attempted by those with walking experience. There is a narrow path alongside a river, with a considerable drop, and the route passes Himalayan Balsam which can fire seeds into faces! There are some challenging stiles, low bridges where crouching is required and some come out on main roads. Much of it crosses fields and grass which can be muddy. There is a level crossing. Map provided.
