There are two opportunities available for planting trees in your community

The Tree Council Branching Out Fund – a grants fund to get communities and young people up to the age of 21 involved in tree and hedge planting and care.

The Tree Council Branching Out Fund – applications are now closed for the 20/21 planting season.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have funds available to assist schools and community groups proposing to undertake well-planned tree, orchard and hedge planting projects this winter (November 2020 – March 2021).

We are delighted to announce that this year, we will fund 100% of the cost (excluding VAT) of strong applications from £300 to an increased upper limit of £1500.

To allow for a four week turnaround time from application to award, the deadline for applications is 5pm Friday 12 February 2021. Any applications received after that date will not be considered for this planting season. Applicants must ensure that they can plan, execute and claim for their completed project by the end of March 2021.

How to apply:

Any school or community group within the United Kingdom that is planning a project which actively involves young people up to the age of 21 is encouraged to apply and help make a greener future.
Applications will be considered as they are received, and all projects must be completed and payments claimed by 31 March 2021.
At this time, it is unclear what social distancing rules will be in place throughout the tree planting season. However, we are still keen to encourage groups to develop tree planting projects, managed by small groups in their communities. If your funded project cannot go ahead at any time this winter due to social distancing restrictions, then the delivery deadline of your grant will be extended to the following year. So please don’t let Covid-19 stop you telling us about your fantastic tree planting projects. We would love you to apply.
