Are you ready to #PlantForOurFuture?

National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration and ran from Saturday 27 November to Sunday 5 December 2021. Across the country, people have planted thousands of trees to mark the start of the winter tree planting season. National Tree Week 2021 might now be over but don’t worry – you can still get involved!

Plant a tree with us!

The winter planting season is upon us so it’s the perfect time to get outdoors and get planting. Trees and hedgerows are some of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against climate change. And the good news is that we can all make a difference by planting a tree! Whether you plant a tree in a pot on your doorstep, a hedge in your garden or organise a community event at a local park, every tree will help us grow a greener future together. Download our tree planting guide to find out more about what tree to choose, where to plant and how to do it!

If you want to plant as part of a team, why not get in touch with your local Tree Warden Network and find out whether they’re organising any planting events near you?

Catch up on our events

Our amazing free webinars for National Tree Week are all available to watch online now. Get ready to #PlantForOurFuture by learning all about tree planting from our resident tree expert Jon Stokes, or join our session with the Oxford Botanic Gardens to find out more about mistletoe – is it a friend or a foe?

Give the gift of a greener future

If you’re not able to plant a tree yourself this winter, don’t worry – The Tree Council can plant one for you! By donating £15, you’ll be helping us to plant a new tree or metre of hedgerow and take care of it afterwards. However much you’re able to give, your generosity will mean that we can continue to work together for the love of trees and create a tree-filled future for all of us.

Getting involved…

Around the country, volunteer Tree Wardens and other champions of local trees will be holding tree planting events throughout the winter planting season. Check back nearer the time using our calendar’s map tab to find out what is happening in your local area.

Disclaimer: please be aware that due to COVID-19, events are subject to changes and cancellations. The Tree Council is also not responsible for the running of third party events, individuals must take responsibility to ensure that the events they attend adhere to local, regional and national safety guidelines. Read our guide for planning Covid-aware tree planting events.
