About the network:
The Borough of Erewash is situated in rural Derbyshire incorporating the market towns of Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
Our network was launched with a handful of enthusiastic volunteers in 2011, just in time for the group to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee by organising The 60 Favourite Trees of Erewash photo competition.
We are now very fortunate to have Tree Wardens that lead their own projects including monitoring protected trees, collecting locally sourced seeds, tree planting and leading walks within their local areas.
There is a calendar of training and events running throughout the year centred around woodland management activities in Local Nature Reserves, tree planting and tree care in local parks.
Erewash Tree Wardens also work with local schools, community groups and partner organisations providing members with the opportunity to engage in educational activities, willow weaving, hedge laying, wildlife recording and nature talks.
We welcome new Tree Wardens of all ages and abilities.
