About the network
The Isle of Wight Tree Warden Network was set up in 2025, enabled by Wight Nature Fund and Yarmouth Town Council. We are in the process of ensuring as many of our town, community and parish councils on the Island have Tree Wardens integrated into their teams, as possible.
A key focus for our Tree Wardens is getting to know their patch. We’re identifying and adding more trees to the Ancient Tree Inventory, making sure we know what Tree and Woodland Protection Orders are in our locations and identifying new planting, which need care and support.
Tree Wardens are appointed by town, community and parish councils; if you would like to become a Tree Warden, or support your local Tree Warden, don’t hesitate to get in contact on trees@wnf.org.uk.
