About the network:
With 30 TWs, The Portsmouth and Southsea network has TWs in most wards.
The network was re-established in 2010 and TWs are involved in the following activities: publishing tree trail leaflets, attending green fairs, organising tree appreciation walks, giving guided tree walks, giving talks about the network, tree planting, planting projects including local (primary) schools, warning the Council Tree Officer of threats to trees, reporting vandalized trees and maintaining the Hilsea fruiting hedge.
In 2011-2012 we ran a competition to find Portsmouth’s Favourite Trees.
We have a Twitter account at www.twitter.com/portsmouthtree and are on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/portsmouthtreewardens/
