Somerset

The Somerset Tree Wardens are a new group that started in 2022. Currently most of our Tree Wardens are in the East of the County. Our group members are interested in tree planting, growing local trees from seed and citizen science surveys. We are currently training volunteers to take part in recording ancient trees using the Woodland Trust Ancient tree Survey forms. We are planning to survey local hedgerows using the People Trust for Endangered species a “Great British hedgerow Survey” and plan to help the Somerset Wildlife Trust with their survey to identify small, local ancient woodlands.
