The trees in our towns and cities do so much for our own health and wildlife. They make our life greener, our air cleaner, and our lives better!
So, as trees are too important to not celebrate, this year’s Urban Tree Festival is taking place online.
To kick off the festival, primary school teacher Barney Lom (son of The Tree Council’s very own Sara Lom), has recorded a story. Throughout the lockdown, Barney has been recording stories for his pupils in front of the fig tree in his garden. In this video, he is reading one of his faivourite books – Big Bear Hug, by Nicholas Oldland, published by Pikku. It’s a story about a bear who loves everything, including trees, and who wants to protect them. Enjoy!
The festival is taking place from 16-20 of May, 2020.
We hope you can join us in celebrating our urban trees!
