DESCRIPTION:Join us in celebrating National Tree Week at St Peter-in-Thanet churchyard\, Broadstairs\, where we’ll explore the beauty of trees together!\nNational Tree Week is coming up at the end of November and this is a great opportunity to celebrate trees in Thanet!\nTake a walk with us in the churchyard guided by tree expert Peter Hasted\, to discover what these trees mean to so many people and the challenges of growing trees on the peninsula of Kent.\nThe walk will last 1 to 1.5 hours and will be a great opportunity to discover more about the beauty of trees and urban woodland ecology. Meeting point details will be sent by us in your confirmation email.\nThe attractive and pleasant churchyard of St Peter’s is one of the longest in the country and the largest “Closed Churchyard” in England. It holds a vairety of planting and naturalised trees\, wildlife and pollinators.\n“Peter shared his wide knowledge and answered numerous questions. Much was learned about the various trees\, their diseases\, fungi\, hibernacula and the benefits of ivy at this time of the year as a source of nectar and hibernation for insects\, berries & roosting sites for birds and bats.”Sue\nPlease come prepared for a 1 to 1.5 hour walk through woodland\, wearing suitable footwear – Wellington boots are recommended\, with waterproofs and some water to drink.\nThe series of 4 walks will take place during National Tree Week at woodland and parks across Thanet on Saturday 22nd\, Sunday 23rd November and Saturday 29th\, Sunday 30th November\nSat 22 Nov\, 11am to 12.30pm: Tivoli Park\nSun 23 Nov\, 11am to 12.30pm: Montefiore Woodlands\nSat 29 Nov\, 11am to 12.30pm: Sunken Garden\nSun 30 Nov\, 1pm to 2.30pm: St Peter’s Churchyard.We are offering a price range for tickets – £5 & £10. Proceeds will be donated to Friends of Montefiore Woodlands\, St Peters Eco Church\, Sunken Garden Society\, please choose the option that you feel suits your situation best.
