Homes for trees in communities
National Highways has pledged to donate hundreds of thousands of trees by 2030, working with communities across England.
We are helping National Highways to gift the trees to places where they can have the most impact. The initiative demonstrates how low carbon initiatives can benefit both nature and communities. Grown by Greenwood Plants, every donated tree is an English native species grown from British‑sourced seed in peat‑free soils, boosting local biodiversity and supporting more resilient habitats.
Following two successful planting seasons, delivering trees to more than fifty projects, we are excited to continue to support community groups, charities, heritage & wildlife sites in the coming years.
Trees for communities
The focus of the Community Trees Programme is on planting trees in locations where they will have the biggest impact, whether enhancing local green spaces, supporting nature recovery or bringing communities together.
