Working together to green communities
As a programme partner, M&G has supported The Tree Council’s flagship education programme, transforming school grounds up and down the UK. Now, we’re looking to the future supply of locally-grown trees.

Young Tree Champions
For five years, M&G has supported our Young Tree Champions programme, helping to bring nature into over 1,030 school communities across the UK.
More than 380,000 students and teachers have taken part in tree planting, nature workshops, and environmental education and over 56,000 trees have been planted in schools. Inspiring classroom resources have been made freely available to inspire a lifelong connection with the natural world.
Growing Together
We’re now building on this foundation with a new phase focused on restoring biodiversity and empowering communities through locally grown trees.
There is a national goal to plant around 1 billion new trees in England by 2050 and Scotland aims to increase its woodland cover from 18% to 21% by 2032.
Together, we will support tree growing in schools and community-led tree nurseries across the UK to supply locally adapted trees, nurtured by local people through hands-on environmental action.
