4000 native trees will be given away across Wakefield District starting in National Tree Week.

12 Libraries are pickup points during that week and Thornes Park Nursery WF2 8QE will be open 10am to 12noon each Sunday starting 23rd November for people to collect free trees.

These are available to anyone in the District to help improve our tree coverage, support wildlife and help combat the effects of climate change.

This will bring our total of trees given away over the last 6 winters to 20,000. Thanks to the hundreds of people who have come forward to plant trees.
