Sidmouth Arboretum Trust, the country’s first Civic Arboretum, will be staging their annual Celebration of Trees the weekend before Tree Week begins officially.  A day of talks, activities and practical demonstrations using wood, plus a chance for the many local environmental groups to get together.

This year we are using some of the Gift Aid we have received to pay for a giveaway of 300 trees suitable for planting in local gardens, a mix of Cherry Plum, Crab Apple and Elder.  The day will also include an update on our recent survey of the valley’s trees conducted with the help of Treeconomics.
