Hedgerows are amazing. They help provide healthy soils, hold carbon and slowing down water flow, and rich wildlife habitats. They’re also beautiful, often hundreds of years old and provide field boundaries and shelter for farm animals. But, since the 1950s, 118,000 miles of hedgerows have been lost, so we all need to replant many more miles!

This National Tree Week make a big difference and help create a lasting legacy in the Lake District landscape that you can watch develop in the years to come.

This volunteer event is open to anyone aged 16 or over. Children are also welcome as long as they have adult supervision.

Please bring a packed lunch and water bottle and wear appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather. Cakes and hot drinks will also be provided.

More details about the day will be emailed to you when you book your places, but if you have any questions please contact naomi.walker@fld.org.uk.
