Northumberland County Council is giving residents, schools, community groups, town and parish councils and businesses the opportunity to obtain a free tree or tree pack to plant on their land as part of our commitment to tackling climate change. Residents can apply for a single sapling, however community groups, businesses, schools and town and parish councils can apply for larger packs of 10, 30, 60, 90 or 120 saplings. The types of trees available for individual residents include: Holly, Silver Birch, Rowan, Crab Apple, Wild Cherry, Oak, Wild Privet and Box tree.

We are running collection points across Northumberland during National Tree Week in November 2025, collection dates for saplings will be on Friday 28th November and Saturday 29th November. Residents can sign up here: https://tree-scheme.northumberland.gov.uk/SelfService/
